It depends on what you are building.......

If it is a suppressor I would give more info then they probably need:

length
diameter
caliber
attachment type and spec

It probably wouldn't hurt to include a mechanical drawing with the forms.

On form 4's there is usually just exterior dementions and caliber but it wouldn't hurt to include more incase they ask. A mechanical drawing couldn't hurt which would include the interior baffles. You would legally only be liable for the external dimentions and caliber though to my knowledge. If anyone else knows otherwise please chime in.

If you NEED a mechanical drawing, send me your sketch and I'll put in CAD and plot for you. No warranty by me, no liability accepted.

no need to actually do anything like that, just furnish tube diameter, length, and intended caliber in the appropriate boxes

thats it, nothing else, skip the 4a box about prototypes...yer just building yer own suppressor for your own use.

Keep it simple.

then dont worry about it, they only care that the length/caliber/serial # is there, and if anybody checks paperwork, all they are gonna do is look at the markings to compare.

Actually you only need the caliber listed. Just put N/A in for the length.
