Me again, I am still hot on investigating this case.

Well maybe its because I know a LOT more about this case. Lets see if I can get some more info out there for ya all. (Don't worry I have even more than this.)

Sheriff Swanson has ALWAYS maintained that Steffey was ASKED & REFUSED to remove her cloths.
But here’s the BCI’s OWN REPORT that PROVES this is a LIE!

But apparently catching the sheriff's dept in a lie isn't a big deal to our "independent" BCI investigator, Christy Palmer, who is ready to accept ANY excuse the sheriff's dept wants to use.

The report also goes on to say that they lowered Steffey in a slow controlled manner to the floor. Except that Steffey says she was thrown to the floor.
She also told her husband in a phone call that she thought the cops had broken her nose.
And she was treated by the nurse for the injury.
And in page 4 of this report Christy Palmer even states that Steffey reported that her nose was making "crunching noises".

So I guess this is proof of a second LIE!

And still Christy Palmer, the "independent investigator" doesn’t think twice about accepting the word of the cops over the VICTIMS in spite of proof.
BTW, Christy also references a video that she says “proves that she was lowered in a slow controlled manner to the floor”. As far as I know, THIS would have to be on the 'non-existent' beginning of the strip video.
On May 5th when I asked about the "missing" video, I was told it would soon be released.
Now here again it looks as though it’s referenced...even though they NOW claim it does not exist.

This isn’t so much an investigation report as it is a smear campaign against Hope Steffey.

They are trying to say that Steffey was resisting enough that EIGHT people couldn't take the chance of ASKING her to remove her cloths, or EVEN TELL HER WHAT WAS GOING ON!!!

I did NOT see any resisting in the video, I saw eight cops parading her to the cell, with her in cuffs.

In fact EVERY video I have seen she is in cuffs!
And the ONLY times I have seen her react to the cops is after they have assaulted her or in the process of stripping her naked.

The cops can polish this turd as much as want, this STILL STINKS!

BTW I don't know why they bothered to black out the names of Nurse Coren Lennon and the jail psychologist Thomas Anuszkiewicz, aren't they PROUD of the work they do?

As a CO I did strip searches at intake to a State Facility a strip search is not a big deal. Nothing like first thing after lunch to see the big gray bus pull up. First, unless a gun or knife is hanging out of someones ass you are simply not going to see it. NO ONE EXCEPT A DOCTOR IS ALLOWED TO PENETRATE A BODY CAVITY IN SEARCH OF CONTRABAND. That's black letter law at prisons. No LEO or EMT is trained in that kind of procedure. So what they were expecting to find is beyond me.

Second, STRIP SEARCHES ARE ABOUT CONTROL. Unless you stumble across it, no one is going to find anything in a standard strip search. Its about mentally fucking with someone.. while they stand their naked. Why do you think its used in interrogations? It breaks you down. Makes your timid. MOST people would be highly offended by a strip search even if they were nudists.

Third, male offices MAY strip females and vice versa only as a LAST RESORT. If the person is flailing about, then is ceases to be a strip search and becomes safety issue. To do a strip search on a non-compliant person while fighting them is insane. Again, its about CONTROL. And for whatever reason these LEO lost it.

Lastly, if you want to search someone for contraband, x-ray them. You see it all. But that gives up the control element for LEO.

One more thing.. what evidence do they think would be admissible if they did find a roach? There are like 10 people on top of her. Strip searches are taped to prove that the evidence was found on that person, and for liability.

Any defense attorney (or civil litigation attorney) is going to roast this facility. Its not about if they are going to get paid, its about how much. I would demand termination for all involved.

I have no pity for LEO who think the job is tough. I did it, my father did it for 15 years. Yet in the news we constantly hear about all these dirtbag 'public servants' who do nothing but break the law and remove rights when none should be taken.

Well first off they claim this was a suicide prevention. Except that its not really about that either, its still about control.
In the reports they don't usually talk about her suicidal tendencies, instead they talk about her attitude & cooperation. Clearly this was about control.

As far as I know the county insurance agency is still negotiating with Steffey's lawyers.

The "trial" has been delayed a few times now, and at present is supposed to be in July. Must be a lot of money negotiated to take this long.

Of course there is NO WAY the sheriff can let this get to a trial. Theres just TOO many conflicting versions, TOO much evidence "missing", a MONTHS long "investigation" that leaves too many questions, and too many illogical explanations for everything that was done.

I also have relation that are LEOs and I have friends that I have worked with for years that are in the sheriff's dept. Plus I know quite a few CO's.

I get a few complaints about the people they have to deal with, but I ask if they didn't KNOW that was going to be part of the job.
And if they can't do the job, I tell them its time to go to barber school.

I know there are good and bad LEO. Some people can handle it, others cannot. On the advice of my father I stayed away from the 'gun ho' type and blended in with the guys who just wanted to do the job and go home.

I was amazed to find in a prison, where you are outnumbered 110 to 1 COs would mess with inmates. One Sargent fucked with an inmate during chow and damn near started started a riot when the inmates homies came out to 'help'.

Wanna feel helpless? How does getting locked into a chow full chow hall while a fight breaks out in front of chow hall #2? Pray to god its a good meal and send'em through the line again.

I remember the good CO's and its been 4+ years since I've seen them.

The bad ones (and there were a few) were slowly worked out of the facility as they made dumb mistakes.
