  2. How big a part will these forums play in the direction of the companies mission?
  3. How large of a priority will lobbying for concealed carry rights represent within the company's goals?

Howdy JL,
To answer each of your questions:
  1. We will be a 501(c)4 Political Education organization. For what we plan on doing we have posted our Mission Statement on the main website. We know our Board of Directors will include at least myself and doug. There may be more but we have to hire a lawyer to help us outline what the requirements in Pennsylvania are (which is why we're doing this.)
  2. The forums will most likely be used to keep in touch with Pennsylvanian Gun Owners whether they are members of the organization or not. We will use it to discuss issues and to an extent drive our activities. From our standpoint it's the best way to communicate directly with everyone and figure out what is important to everyone.
  3. Our goal is to lobby for all rights of firearms ownership and concealed carry is one of them, currently the large issues related to concealed carry for many of our members seem to be carry in state parks, stand-your-ground law, and the ability to lock firearms in a vehicle regardless of employment rules. As such those are the issues related to concealed carry that we will be focusing our energy on.
In the end everyone here has a day job and we're just starting out on this little journey. We really hope that we can grow to be as effective of an organization as similar groups like the Virginia Citizens Defense League, but in the end only time will tell. I think it would be arrogant of us to promise results and promise victory at this point in time as we all have a lot to learn and do, but the one thing I can promise is we sure will try.

75% in under 4 days. That is impressive. The NRA doesn't get this kind of support. (well they do, but it is in different forms.)

I feel like a cheap bastard only donating $25 but I'm real tight on money at this time of year and I'll donate something more in the future.

I sent in $25 via paypal.

Jamie, you cheap bastard you. LOL! Seriously, don't feel bad. I was only able to donate $10 because I am the only one working. My wife is disabled. Every little bit helps. If we each give what we can, we will arrive at our goal.

I sent a bunch of emails out to PA members about this so hopefully that will make up for my cheap bastardness.

Jamie, $25 is no small change so don't feel that way. To us $25 is a pretty big donation especially when the matching funds are worked in, so thank you very, very much.

First: I don’t know danp, our administrator … and yet, I can definitely get the feel that he’s a young man with a dream …and in my humble opinion a very worthwhile dream and goal!!

Second: I would like to help forge the future …before the future makes me part of the past!!

Third: “When the PAFOA does true NRA-style 'Memberships' in the future (as we are planning to do) all donations received will be credited towards the cost of such memberships,” is a direct quote from danp. What a deal!!

So guys & gals …what do you say?? Let’s help make the dream come true!!

Even though I already donated, I’m now going a step further.

… Now in addition, I pledge to match (Up to $100.00)
