I hope none thinks that whatever they give is "not much" because every dollar donated adds up fast and gets us closer to the goal. There will be future fundraisers, I'm sure, but for this first one all members have the unique opportunity of having their donations matched. So even One Dollar donated by many people can have a tremendous impact.

Regardless of your religious view, I trust we can all agree on the following:

"And (Jesus) sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the multitude were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. And calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, 'Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.'" (Mark 12:41-44)

In other words, give whatever you can as all donations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for visiting our forum! If you ever plan to return you should consider quickly registering for a forum account, especially if you're in Pennsylvania. It's simple to do and best of all free. I'm in for $10.

If I could, I would single-handedly pay for the fees (and I mean that) but being a college student...sucks.

If there is any other way to help, besides monetarilly, I'll be glad.

College sucks, I've only been out for 2.5 years and I still have more loans than I even want to think about. Thanks for the support aviz, it's truly appreciated.

This is a question I have thought about for a while. As PAFOA continues to grow, is there a possibility of having a spokesperson? I ask because I listen to Bob Durgin's show on WHP580 AM in the afternoons here in Harrisburg and it would be great to have a representative of the Association chime in when he talks about 2nd Amendment issues.

Mind you, I am not volunteering because I have a real apprehension about public speaking and am not as well versed as others on all 2nd Amendment issues. What I would suggest is, if and when we have someone who would act in that capacity, I could e-mail the show and inform them that so and so would be willing to speak on behalf of PA gun owners regarding various issues relating to things like:

Anti-gun legislation
CCW issues
Lawful gun owners responses to tragedies like the Amish school shooting, etc.

Just something to think about for the future.

At the moment I would say I am the only real "official" spokesperson for the organization. Once we get incorporated as a non-profit and have official board members and whatnot that will expand.

I personally love public speaking and I like talking/debating so it works out pretty well.

That's great. If and when we are ready to come forth as a voice for PA gun owners, I will assist in contacting local media here in the Harrisburg area.
