Now that the election is history, what are the feelings in regard to getting "Castle Doctrine" legislation into law?

I'd like to see it signed into law and I think that it is not a particularly hard issue to win. It's pretty hard to argue against a law that says "You're not required to turn your back and run from a person trying to kill you" without grossly misrepresenting it.

The potential still exists on the state level, the majority of Dems that were voted in are the old school type from areas that firmly believe in the 2A. On the federal level, we'll be lucky if we don't start seeing some ugly legislation before the next election. If the Dems hold off on anti-2A legislation for the next two years and hold off on tax increases then it will depend on who is in the WH after that. If they have both houses and the WH hold on to your hats.

A Castle Doctrine Bill has been authored:

Well it does stink but even if it had passed the House what are the chances Fast Eddie would have signed it into law? I say none!

I would guess that it would depend on the margin it passed by. If it passed with an over-ridable margin it wouldn't matter one way or the other.
