Castle Doctrine is NOT known as the Stand Your Ground doctrine, they are two completely seperate and distinct doctrines...however what politicians think and do might be different.

It doesn't much matter what you call it but most are refering to it as the castle doctrine and that is probably because we are all refering to BH2231. Should HB2231 had made it to law it wouold have been called the castle doctrine if you actually read the wording of the bill and it would have extended outside of the home and limit civil liability but it is a dead issue in the legislature becauser it never made it to a real vote, it went beyond the 1 year sitting so it would need to be reauthored again but I would not expect this to happen based on the results of the elections.
