I have just joined this forum and reading threads like this is why. I think it is great the way our fellow gun owners support one another. Good luck Damage.

I have not read through the 5 pages of replies to this, so I may be repeating what others have said.

However, the correct response is to file an appeal directly to the Court of Common Pleas. The process is much more complicated than appealing a gun purchase denial, this is a court hearing, just like what gnbrotz went through. You need to draft proper pleadings, serve the Sheriff according to Local Rules.

If you have not filed your own legal pleadings before, I strongly recommend using a lawyer. This is not simple process.

You have to file within 20 or 30 days, I'd be conservative and file within 20 days of the date on the denial letter. If you file too late, you have to wait until sometime in 2009 to re-apply.

This is correct.

I had an acquaintance that was denied recently and the sheriff's office send an appeal form... turns out it was a PICS challenge form... I was under the incorrect thought that there was an appeal process laid out for issuance (but not revocation) in the UFA.

I hope this works out well for you.
It's legal (so is CC on your own property) and the cops were never called. "good idea" or not he's got a case here. The more we push for our rights the better things will get.
