Default Looking for a safe

Since my uncle passed away a few months ago, my firearm collection has grown drastically. I used to keep my few pieces in a lockbox built into my closet shelves, but now I must upgrade to a safe capable of holding 8 to 10 guns. Any suggestions ??

On a general note, my advice is to buy a safe 2 to 3 times bigger than you "need" now.

I bought a nice safe about a year ago at cabelas for around 800 bucks. I picked up and put in my basement and it's fireproof and holds 12-24 guns and has a hunter green gloss finish. This is not on thier website but was in store only.
Compared to other safes this is a great buy.

Girlfriend keeps telling me I need to buy a gun safe. I never thought about how big a one I would need. This is good advice. Never would have thought about this, but really smart. Thanks for the tip.

Even if you don't ever fill it with guns you'd be surprised how much other "stuff" you'll find yourself putting in there besides guns.

I agree with Pa. Patriot - its great advice.

I bought a Liberty safe from the Outdoor Show in Fort Washington about two years ago.
I went on Saturday and picked out the safe that I wanted. I went back Sunday (right before they were getting ready to pack up and load all of the safes - about 25 of them) with a pocket full of $100's and my pick up truck and offered to take the safe right there on the spot. I got a great deal - about $250 less then they were selling it for.

I thought that I'd never fill it, but I was wrong. Its amazing how fast your gun collection will grow after you buy a new safe

Check out some of the gun shows at Valley Forge. I saw a big display there at the September show.
If you want to get an idea of different sizes and quality, Target World in Montgomeryville has a big display.

safes ALWAYS end up too small!! Do the right thing the first time and build a safe ROOM
