Exclamation Indian Mountain Lake needs Support

Here in the Poconos housing developments are often private communities that have all but formed towns of their own. Such is the case with Indian Mountain Lake. It's own armed security, 60+ miles of privately maintained roads, and a set of rules carrying stiff fines for non-compliance. However people with concealed carry permits are forced to register themselves with the association!

Yet somehow the concept of a shooting range was brought up with the Board of Directors, and some of them could support this. I just found out they're about to face some stiff anti-gun opposition at tomorrow's board meeting. If you live in IMLCA we need you at tomorrow's board meeting. If you're reading this and know pro 2nd Ammendment people living in IMLCA, then please pass this along quickly. We only have a matter of hours to provide a balance to the audience.

Well, apparantly the anti-gun opposition we were about to face was a load of hot air, which is a good thing. Thanks to those who did show. I suspect if we move forward with the range we will need support.

Does any idiot actually comply and register their firearms with this housing association? Well I suppose some of the sheep might comply as they may not be aware of the law. IML, just like any other town or housing division etc, can't just make up their own gun laws. If living there meant agreeing to their terms and such I would put a dammed "For Sale" sign up right quick and look for the WORST possible tennant that could afford the price.

Knowing this information prior to moving in, why the hell would you still buy a place there? Was it like 20k for a 10 bedroom house or something? They would really have to offer me a helluvalot to move into such a restrictive place like that.

How timely. I don't have a house there, but my friend's father does. We're actually going to go up in a couple weeks to hang out. A firing range there would be great!!

Of course if they take all the teeth out of it (no more than 3 rounds, no rapid fire, etc.) it wouldn't be much fun.

If I could support the measure I would, but I don't live there.

I think all the antigun sentiment you'll find come from the New Yorkers who have a second house out there.

I remember when that place didn't even have any guards of any kind. Now, their rules seem to be one joke after another.

Some of that board is pushing for less rules. The rest need to hear it from the membership, but nobody comes to the meetings.

The problem is the board does not want to hear from its members. Not all but most of the board and office staff run this place like nazi germany.

The board feels its necessary to send me a letter stating I illegally dumped by pushing snow into the woods, *$#% them.

I love these associations that think they can make it up as they go along.
Do people still shoot at the pit on Hypsie Gap rd?

There are a couple of issues here:
Read the rules before you buy.
Get involved. Run for the board. Even some civil disobedience to shed light on an issue.
Doesn`t IML have a rod and gun club right off 534 with ranges?
There are rules in place at the state level that regulate how and what HOA`s can do. The procedures unless laid out in the founding bylaws are regulated and so is the procedures for changing bylaws.

I`ll never understand why there is any attraction to these private problem spots????
