I'm not concerned about making holes in the walls, those can be fixed. What concerns me is the possibility of the projectile traveling outside the house.

Would 00 buck (is what's loaded in my shotty) be a better choice than 223 regarding projectiles leaving the house?

Truthfully, I would like to use my AR (in a SHTF situation). My shotty isn't modified yet to fit me, so I would have to be shooting from the hip. Not something I am comfortable doing yet.

you will be fine useing the AR-15 is a more precise weapon and yes the shotgun is also but if your shotgun dont fit use the AR-15 plus i would rather worry about 1 projectile then multipul ones getting through.

when a 223 hits a wall or even flesh studies have shown that the bullet tends to tumble which is one reason that the 223 caliber will penatrate walls and other surfaces less then a mass of pellets from a buckshot load.

Yes it is deadly but thats why we consider it for home defense and other applications.
as for illegally owned full auto i hope everyone who does this is arrested but telling lawfull owners of such weapons they should never tell anyone and that they are the reason nancy is gonna take all our 2nd amendment rights away is just a blatent mis statement. I some how think you will do fine with the AR-15
as for the Nursing home we will need to start our own so we can bring our guns, for theroputic means.
