How can you have "anticipated this as a possible occurrence" to the point of bringing a rifle and magazine with you and then into the house, then let your phone be "in a bad place to go at the moment" when its needed ?

That's simple. I just left in on the table in the living, and honestly I thought that this wouldn't ever happen. I got my priorities straight. The entire thing was a big surprise. It now goes in my safe spot where I'm covered by having my back to a wall which is below the surface, and across from me the door is the only way in. By the way in bacck in the house is nothing, but a forest, and further back is a mountain.
