I was looking for a Colt detective spl, and the reputable dealer in town pulled out a taurus 38Spl that is the knock off for J frame 38s. He went in back, grabbed a NIB, and brought it out, opened the box, found the revolver locked, and proceeded to try to unlock the darned thing for at least 10 minutes....
Neither of us could believe it...
That was the last time I ever looked at any taurus product seriously.

Thumbs up Re: Disappointing New Taurus

Just wanted to put in my to cents on Taurus guns. Right now I own two of their guns, 9mm millenium pro that has seen a few thousand rounds with out any trouble . This is my carry gun its with me all the time,if i should need to call on it with mine or my familys life on the line . I will do so with no concern of gun malfunction. The second gun is a ragingbull 454 casull , that I use for hunting. This is also a great gun , when i can afford to shoot the thing. I can on anyday hold a 3 inch group at a hundred yards, with a rest. The only trouble i had was finding a red dot type scope that would not break after a couple of shots. So far so good with a bushnell hallo sight. All in all I think they are good guns and when uncle sam sends my tax money back (I love having kids) my next gun will be a 1911 from taurus. I can only hope it will be as good to me as my other to taurus guns are.

If you are addressing me, well that would be Charlotte.
I remember hitting Lexington BBQ years ago when it was off I-85.

Awesome! I thought I was the only person here with a Raging Bull (although mine is .44 mag) I'd love to see some pics of yours with the holo scope on it!

I too own a few Taurus pistols i have 3 PT1911's 2 Raging bulls and 4 pt92's they are all outstanding fire arms and the only problem i've had was a broke extractor on my first 1911 but they fixed it and not a problem since. i wouldnt worry about it send it back they will fix it and it will be fine.

Ill see if my wife will help me take a couple of pics . I would do it my self but i would have better luck going to the moon. the only thing iam good at with computers is breaking them. As for taurus iam very happy with mine, but if i did buy one and had trouble right out of the box, I would be pissed as well. That goes for any gun manufacture. As i said before the only trouble i had was finding a scope that would that the recoil . I broke steel rings and aluminum rings, I even broke one red dot almost in half, it looked like a banana. Cabelas didnt want to take it back, but i was able to find the salesmen that told me it would handle the recoil of a 500 sw (THAT WAS B.S.) and they took it back. After a lot of wasted time and money, Bushnell guaranteed that the Holo sight will hold up. I put about 100 rounds down range and its holding up. I will try and post some pics in the pictrue forum.

Yes I know this now. Which Ford still denies that there were ever issues with how Cam gears were attached to the camshaft itself.

It was blaimed on user, because either:
user failed to provide adequate maintanance...
user was operating a car in manner witch it wasn't suitably designed for...
I performed unauthorized modds to the car(like exhaust, Remote starts, that sort of things)...
