Default Taurus Model 608 4"

Does anyone have any experience handling and firing this revolver?

I am mainly concerned with how "solid" it is. Does it feel cheaply made? It'd be replacing a Ruger SP101 for this. I know the Ruger is "rock solid" but does this gun even come close?

One review said the 6" version was front heavy, does anyone know if the 4" version is more balanced?

Thanks!

Default Re: Taurus Model 608 4"

of all taurus I've played with, they all shoots good, and are solid.
There are "some" minor finish issues with some(including mine), but nothing that would hinder performance in any way or form.

Only true complaint,, if you can call it that, that I had with last 608 I've played with was that cylinder seem some what on loser side compared to my S&W.
lockup was tight enough when hammer is pulled, but when hammer is down, play seems more then my S&W.

BUT it does not affect your accuracy in anyway tho.

I have one with the 8" barrel.

I put a scope on it from day one, so I dont really know about the balance. To me all 8" revolvers are front heavy.

My gun is solid and has been a great shooter from the beginning. I killed 3 deer with it before I moved up to the .41 mag and the .44 mag.

No issues with mine. Good gun.

I've got a 4" ss. Overall a very good solid revolver. No complaints from me. It does feel a bit front heavy to me but shoots real nice due to the weight. Pick one up and handle it, if you like it buy it.
