WARNING: It could happen to YOU!

I've been handling guns since my first Hunters Safety Course in 1988. 20 years ago. I've owned .22 rifles, a lovely Winchester 30-30 and recently my Glock 22 (.40) my KelTec P32 and my Mossberg 500a.

In the past 20 years I've never had a Negligent Discharge. Ever. Until Tonight.

This is incredibly embarrassing to admit. But I feel I need to warn everyone... it doesn't matter how much experience you have, a N.D. could happen to you!

No one was hurt, aside from the bruising my own ego took, a destroyed Network Switch, Cell phone and a hole in my desk and wall.

They say that the two loudest sounds are a "Click" that should have gone "Bang"; and a "Bang" that should have gone "Click." - Never have truer words been spoken.

So I leave you with pictures of the aftermath, and I implore you: Please, PLEASE be vigilant about checking the chamber and magazine of your firearms before you handle them!

Glad to hear your ok lildobe,
Addmiting ones mistakes is one of the hardest things to do. Espectialy when it comes to something as serious as a ND. Thank you for bringing this up.

(1) Glad no one was hurt! Ego bruising notwithstanding, of course...
(2) Good advice - to quote a good friend: "We play with dangerous toys - be safe, be aware, and go home with only the holes in you that God gave you..."

(3) I have one of the photos of the Netgear carnage posted in my cubicle. I have SO wanted to do that to that sorry piece of !_%#@# that is supposed to be a router.

ever since then i treat every gun as if it was loaded! and i have OCD when it comes to checking for a clear chamber


welcome to the club! im sure you have a new found respect for your weapons now

im glad your safe! other people who had a AD haven't been so lucky

people get comfortable with weapons sometimes and do stupid things.
