Not to be an ass or anything. But I don't understand whats the big deal.

While suck major ass, fact simply remains that dude was speeding. 85mph in 55mph. thats 30mph over the posted limit. AND thats an arrestable offence.

Reason given for revokation was "Illegal behavior while in possession of a firearm."

So was he not braking the law while possession of firearm?

Some cops - PSP or local - Can be a real PIA. Some are in serious power trip.
And some will not be kind to person who they feel is being not friendly or giving officer an attitude.
While I feel really bad about it, dude simply screwed up. and he was very unlucky.
He should have just set his cruise control at 60mph, and arrive to his distination 5 minutes later.

No, i'm suggesting you answer truthfully. "there is nothing illegal in my car"

Being evasive is not a crime, you don't know what you're talking about.

As for traffic violations... I have collided with a newark nj police officer who was trying to stop a road ralley (ahem). Didn't loose the car, didn't get arrested, drove away in my civic.

Gotten stopped doing just a bit over double the speed limit, ended up with a warning (i should get it framed) and a seat belt ticket.

I have also gotten tickets for going 15 over the limit when I was doing maybe 5 to 10. A lot depends on the cop and the kind of day he is having. The rest is up to you, how you look, how you present yourself, who you are and what you say.

My gray eclipse with large V6 markings, chrome plated NOS switches and radar detector does not say "I drive the speed limit" but I do usually go to work wearing a nice suit or 5.11 gear, clean shaved etc etc.
My stock-as-chicken-broth '05 Civic gets me 10-15 over tickets when I'm at the speed limit, so consider yourself lucky even on top of your luck.

I dont think it was the leo reporting him.
I know i guy who was riding his kid on the front of a atv, got pulled over and a ticket for child indangerment he lost his ccw.
He had no gun on him at the time.
Its bad judgement to speed but we all do it.
Maybe if cops are caught speeding they should lose the gun too???

Don't be silly. You know police officers would never break the law like that!

I thought about this last night driving home from work. Do you think if you have any type of "gun" bumper stickers, window stickers, etc that it will prompt the LEO to ask if you have any weapons when he stops you?

Hawk,

Then its incumbent upon you to make sure YOUR meter (your speedometer) is correctly calibrated and displaying the proper speed. All measuring devices exhibit some calibration drift over time.
