Okay boys and girls, here's a chance to do a little something for each other during the holiday season. I'm not a religious man, so this season, for me, is more about spending time with good people, eating lots of good food and generally being thankful for everything in my life that I cherish. I thought that with the amazing camaraderie around here, we might be able to successfully pull off a Secret Santa type thing.
The rules are simple: The gifts will come in the form of e-Gift certificates (gift certificates sent to an e-mail address instead of someone's real address) from an online retailer. I have included a list of some I have used before or know of for reference. To enter, send me an e-mail (nineseven AT gmail DOT com) with the subject line of "PAFOA SECRET SANTA" stating that you'd like to participate along with the e-mail address you'd like to use for the event and up to 3 merchants you'd prefer to get your gift from. If you do not specify any merchants, the choice is up to the sender and you get whatever they send. Please do not send me any PM's as my inbox will be flooded and that'll just cause problems. If you're comfortable, please include your forum name with the e-mail so that I know who to contact in case there are any problems with the e-mail address (though if need be, I can always try to contact you through the sending address you signed up with). The maximum gift amount is $25.00. All gifts are to be as anonymous as possible (so in the From: section you should put PAFOA Secret Santa and the To: section should be something like “PAFOA member” or “brother in arms” or whatever). The e-mail address is what binds the gift code to the person, so anonymous certificates are generally fine with the merchants (check their rules before you purchase just in case). The sign-ups will run from now until December 14th at 1:00 PM. As the sign-ups come in, I will assign a unique number to each e-mail address to facilitate pairing members up. If we end up with an odd number, I will gift to 2 people to make it even. Sometime before midnight that night, I will draw all of the numbers from a PAFOA hat, pairing consecutive numbers together (so if I draw number 45 and then number 12, those two will exchange gifts and so on and so forth). Once I have all of the numbers and e-mail addresses paired up, I will send out e-mails to the corresponding addresses stating which e-mail address they should make their certificate out to along with their 3 preferences for merchants. If you have signed up, you agree to send a gift to whatever e-mail address you're paired up with. If for some reason you need to pull out, please do so BEFORE 12/14/2007 at 1:00 PM (though I do understand that things happen, especially around the holidays). All gifts should be sent out no later than 12/21/2007. Merchants with online gift certificates (if you know of others that will work, please respond in this thread with a link): Cabelas http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...&cm_ite=netcon REI http://www.rei.com/PrepareGiftCertif...ewControl=INIT BassPro http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...=gcemailbuynow Brownells http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/sto...rtificate.aspx Snap-on tools http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/GiftC...ault.asp#eGift Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00.../ref=g_gc_fam2 Newegg.com (Verified by Visa only) https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion...ft+certificate Gifts.com (various merchants) https://giftcards.gifts.com/Buy/Step1.asp Giftanything.com (various merchants) http://www.giftanything.com/?gclid=C...FReQGgodxEXrlQ P.S. If you find humor in the resident Agnostic putting together a Secret Santa Event on a gun board, you're not alone, I lol'd when I thought of the idea too.

I think I'm signing up for this but it's very late and I had way too much food. Once my eyes uncross I'll be in touch. Yep, nice computer....
