Default Taurus Question

I bought two Taurus pistols from a friend; a PT 111 in 9mm, and a PT 145 Pro in 45caliber.

What does the "pro" designate if anything on PT145? When I look for acceseries on-line I see PT 145 quite often but nothing with the Pro designation.

Thanks in advance-

The Pro models are very similar to the regular Millennium series pistols, differing slightly in ergonomics. The Pro series pistols also seem to just feel better in my hand, and appear to be a bit smoother and better polished internally.

Pro models have Single Action/Double Action triggers.

Read about them at www.taurususa.com

I'm currently eyeing up a PT111 Pro for myself.

I also forgot to add that it has dovetailed Heinie sights front and rear; are these on all pro models? Or were they added later?

Standard on the pt1xxpro models. Should be Heinie straight 8s

Does anyone have a Pro that can confirm this? I've read conflicting comments on the SA trigger. How would that work if they don't have an external hammer?

I just picked up a pt140pro on monday. The trigger is indeed SA/DA. Cycling the slide cocks the striker, so it works SA. The DA part comes in if you have a FTF, just pull the trigger again to cock and fire.

I haven't taken mine fully apart to see exactly what goes on when, but that is how it was explained to me.

No. Only a frame mounted safety. I personally think it is an odd setup. As it is I think it is a bastard single action.

If you are looking at holsters, the ones designed for the PT 111 won't fit the PT111 Millenium Pro.
