Unhappy Anyone hear about this? Trop Gun Shop

I'd heard from some shooting friends about this, but hadn't seen anything in the threads mentioning it - condolances from one sportsman to another - hope the family is doing well.

Michael L. Marchiori

Michael L. Marchiori, 56, of Elizabethtown, PA, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at his home.

Born December 8, 1950, in DuBois, PA, he was the husband of JoAnn Marchiori, to whom he was married 35 years and the son of Louis and Helen (Mancini) Marchiori.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Michael attended school in Ridgway, PA, and graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served with the U.S. Army in South Vietnam and, upon returning, settled in Elizabethtown, where he started and ran a successful regional business, CENTURY SPOUTING, INC. and owned the local TROP GUN SHOP. Mike was able to sponsor numerous local sports teams, contribute to fundraisers, and be generous to charities. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Safari Club International, the National Rifle Association, the National Sporting Clay Association, Delta Waterfowl, and the National Federation of Independent Business.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends, gardening and cooking, hunting in western Canada and at a remote camp in Elk county, skiing in Colorado, bicycle riding, hiking, fishing, competitive clay bird shooting, being at his beach house, and traveling for adventure. His recent great joy was the birth of a first grandson, Aiden.

Michael is survived by JoAnn, his wife of 35 years; his son, Alan, husband of Marian and father of Aiden, of Golden, CO; his father, Louis and step-mother, Judy, of Brockport, PA; brother David and his wife, Sally of Sacramento, CA; brother Charles and his wife, Heather, of Brockport, PA; a sister, Lynn and her husband, Chris Cavalline of Crenshaw, PA; several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews as well as a loving in-law family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Mancini Marchiori and a sister, Karen Ann Marchiori.

As Mike was an extremely generous and humble man, he will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Viewing and vigil service will be held in DuBois, PA on Saturday, November 10th, 2007 at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home, 211 South Main St., from 4-8 p.m., and on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 904 Mill Road, Elizabethtown PA from 5-7 p.m., with a Prayer Service following the viewing. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 12, 2007 at the St. Peter Catholic Church, 904 Mill Road, Elizabethtown, PA at 11 a.m., with the Father David Danneker as the celebrant. Interment will be private.

If desired, memorial contributions can be made in Michael's memory to the Preservation Fund for Historic St. Peter Catholic Church, 1840 Marshall Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

Arrangements entrusted to the Dailey Funeral Home, 650 S. 28th Street, Harrisburg PA 717-233-1933.
