There's no law against carrying in a state park. They can yell ans scream and cite "regulations" all they want. Carry your gun and don't let them see it.

State park "regulations" ban firearms (except in your vehicle/camp IIRC).
Breaking a State Park reg is a Summary Offense under PA law. So as others have pointed out, no law against it. But there is a law against violating SP regs. |

Someone will correct me if I am wrong.
But I believe there is no law in PA that porhibits you from carrying in a State Park. But, there is DCNR regulations that prohibit it. If you break one of these regulations, you can get fined with a summary offense....no worse than a parking or speeding ticket. But my feeling is that you still don't want to get fined for this. If you county does any kind of extensive background check, this might turn up and might be grounds for not issuing your LTCF because of your disregard for firearm regulations. I conceal carry in state parks.

Um, no. Secondly, this regulation is inconsistent with laws governing carrying concealed firearms.

Please explain....

I agree with everything already stated. As such I carried my .357 concealed 2 weeks ago when my son and I went hiking at Rickettes Glen State Park.
I have always figured that with 911 no being an option in such places (no cell coverage) that it only make sense to carry if you can. I also carry a good first aid kit extra water, some rope and a good fixed blade knife, etc. I wouldn't dream of going without any of these items. Enjoy your hike and be safe. |
