Blame the War?

ARE YOU FNN SERIOUS? get you dam head out of the sand man!

Oh yeah i hear that shit all the time "its the war" yeah fucking right im sure the US is shooting wolf ammo

You wanna know why Ammo has gone up?? Well here ill tell you.

petro

petroleum products are used in almost every stage of ammunition production, Same with the base metals takes petroleum products to mine, refine and transport.

Then once the ammo plant gets the raw materials, more petroleum products are used to convert them into components bullets brass and primers

more petroleum products to run the machines.

petroleum products to make the lube and sealant used on the finished product once they are made Guess what

more petroleum products to move it store it and ship it

you get the idea now i hope.

The military does not have a shortage of ammo. I REPEAT THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF AMMO, there are millions of rounds sitting in storage just waiting to be shipped out.

If the war was the reason ammo is up so much it wouldnt effect the price of cheep ammo like wolf and others.

I also dont get down with the "its the price of raw materials" line either!

It all comes down to petroleum products(OIL) boys and girls. it why the 16oz box of cereal that was $3.00 is now in a 12oz box and is $4.00

As far as I know oil is not used in powder are brass. But the troops are using 1 billion rounds a day. The M16 uses 223 rounds and that's brass that I'm sure is not policed up. it gunpowder that expended.

I'm not against the war as my grandson will be there in January and my cousins are there already. So I still believe the war is driving up the cost of ammo. By the way Winchester is cutting down on its brass at the neck of a bullet by about 1/16 of an inch. Not my stat but a gun shop owner.

In addition Iwas told that we're putting so many .50 cal rounds through the M2 that resupply ammo is coming from WWII era ammo stores. Bro says they run through the gun just as well now as they did when "Ma Duce" was perched atop a M4 Sherman tank in Sicily/Iwo Jima/Hoengsong.

oil is used in the mining of all the component that when blended make gunpowder

and brass comes from copper and zinc which also uses oil to mine then oil is used to melt them into brass then after that they use oil when the anel the case to form the neck.

and if you still think the war is to blame for ammo prices how do you explain the Russian steel case stuff doubling in price

and i know for a fact there are facilities full with military ammo

PLease let me know where this is located. Everyone I know who works at an armory all tell me Ammo is running low.

I agree oil has a bearing on the price but the war has as much of a bearing as oil remember the Law in this country since WW1 has been every third oil well dug is caped for military use. So if these wells were opened up could you still belame oil ?

By the way how long have you worked for the goverment ? I worked for about 49 years that includes service time

Im not telling where it is located but rest assured there is no shortage for the military. I will say its a Army Depo

I have never worked for the government but i know many people who do

thats great about the oil wells but military oil rights have no bearings on the commercial ammo manufacturers.

AND you still havent explained to me why the war has effected the price of non military ammo

i would love to hear why the war has driven up the price of steel cased Ruski ammo
