Seem like this statement should say the availability of criminals is "out of hand here in the City of Philadelphia," going on to call the prosecution of criminals for violating laws "the softest ... in the entire nation.

The court system, and prision officials in Washington, D.C., and Harrisburg "resisting reasonable efforts to curtail the flow of early Release of criminals out into the community need to take notice of all this."

Or how about correcting this statement to read:
"It's very difficult to imagine how these officers are going to be able to continue to do their jobs under the circumstances where there are just so many repeat offending criminals floating around the streets,"

Wow how about this novel idea of the D.A.'s, judges, court system REALLY prosecuting criminals and making violent offender serve full term sentences.

IF they are really serious about sending a message how charging criminals for illegal possession of firearms with its 5 year jail sentence and enforcing it instead of using it as a plea bargaining tool to make the D.A. job easier. Get rid of this concurrent sentencing, and especially do away with the unique Philly "money making" bail bond system that puts police officers at extra risk to recatch bail jumpers.

Police officer put themselves at great personal risk arresting criminals and when criminals final get punishment for their personal bad behavior. What kind of stupid message does the releasing the criminals early from prison for good behavior in prison send? Why should they be rewarded for good behavior in prison when they were put the criminal bad behavior outside of prison.

IF violent criminals are severing their full sentences in prison for their criminal actions, all the police officers and citizens in those communities will be much safer.

These are the same people that want to go after firearm manufactures for letting their products out to the general public for lawful proposes. How about using the same logic on them and going after the same the judges, District Attorney and the criminal justice system who are not protecting the public from its dangerous criminal products being released from prison early or plea barging cases away to make their job easier.

Sorry to the injured police officers and citizens in Philly that have to deal with catering to the criminal elements in your city by public officials.
You understand Philadelphia very well.

Did anyone else catch Commissioner Johnson's comment last night at the press conference about specific gun laws he would support?

He said that he strongly supports the "1 gun a month" and the "24 hours to report a stolen gun" legislation.

In the same speech he stated, "85% of Philadelphia gun crimes are committed by individuals who cannot legally own a firearm in the first place."

What a knucklehead this guy is, and all his anti-2A buddies. More laws to attempt to prevent actions which are ALREADY illegal.

You guys hit the nail on the head.... Stop blaming Harrisburg. Stricter sentencing and carrying out full sentences would significantly put a dent in these criminal activities. And full jails is no excuse. How about that sherriff in Texas who put up the tent city for inmates? We've got plenty of open space in PA for some "inmate labor camps".

But I'm preaching to the coir......

I just read where the perp that killed the officer in Dunken Donuts the other week. Was not even arrested for a armed robbery he had commiteed the week before. I believe the police commissar said he must have slipped through the cracks.
Wonder why I carry in Phila. Maybe because to many slip through the cracks.

Default Re: 2 Philly Cops Shot - Stable Condidtion

In February, in neighboring Delaware a newly appointed U.S. Attorney promised a crackdown on crimes comitted with firearms.
Well, this week the FIRST case was setteled.
You guessed it!!!
The Judge in the matter disregarded the Federal guidelines in place and the perp got off with MERELY time served.
The politicos just don't seem to get it.
The cop shooters almost always are repeat offenders (25 or more priors) and it dosen't ring any bells!

To all PAFOA members !

The first thing you must remember about Politicians and office holders is that as soon as they open their mouths a number of lies come out . Mayor elect Michael Nutter is doing the typical double speak of all Politicians , He says one thing about gun control and then says something second amendmnt rights. There are enough laws on the books and most ops want to wnforce thelaws properly to getcreeps off the street.

It is worrisome that 33 cops have been shot at or shot , I wll look that up when I get back to work on Wednesday.
Thanks to Soberbyker ( I cant add any more rep points Iget stopped everytime ) Thanks Philadelphia , and Thanks Whitefeather. And no Philly is agreat place to live , and not as dangerous as some people think.
