Gee, I thought that the house was set up pretty easy. You guys ought to see an IPSC match. We try to put shooting stages that are sort of right in the middle. I want them to be fun for SlickNick, but also for Lycanthrope and everyone in between.

There is one thing that Roland, Steve, or myself cannot help shooters with and that is giving a shit what everyone else thinks. I always say that if you don't shoot the RO or yourself and you had fun, it is a good shoot. And I mean it. Who cares about the time or the score? I got really excited on Sunday when I saw a shooter score less than one, then come back and score almost two, then come back and score in the low three's. That's what I like about ROing. I try to help each and every shooter with the little bit of gun-fu that I have. It is always the simplest things that result in better scores and faster times.

There is no difference between Nicki shooting right after me or me shooting right after Lycanthrope. I always watch the really good shooters and ask questions about how they got that way. I have yet to come across someone that did not give me really good advice.

Now if the difficulty is one with moving, shooting, and changing mags, then that is an area that the shooter needs to work on. That is actually why I started shooting IPSC. I always carried concealed and then I realized that I might as well have been carrying a rock. I was not good at shooting on the move, changing mags, or even drawing under stress. I am still not great, but I am improving.

We should all know each other well enough by now to be able to learn in front of each other.

Oh geez.......you guys think I shoot ok all the time? I think my gun shrank an inch my first time through the house the other day (projectile dysfunction?).

EM you may as well post the video of me ripping the shovel handle out on the swinger stage and darn near wrapping myself in cord and falling on my face. Let's not even talk about my timing.......it was certainly an off day.

But.....hey, I thought it was kinda funny.

I'd be happy with an easy hoser course anyday, but if you aren't spending more time smiling at a Poofa shoot than you spend worrying, you've just not talked to enough people yet.

And next month, I vote we don't keep any type of scores.

Good call. That was kind of a pain. It did make people slow down, though.

Yep, just like in Kindergarden everyone gets a blue ribbon.....

Okay, maybe not like that but I vote for no scores. Time is good, shooting is good. But if I wanted true IPSC I would do true IPSC. I just want to do watered down IPSC. like switching from Orange juice to Kool-Aid.

slicknick,
You'll be happy with the next Easter Island setup. It will be allot less complicated and stressful. If it's like the past steel courses we setup, you will not have to run and gun, and maybe not even need to change a mag.
3 poppers - 3 shots, 3 firemen - 3 shots, star - 5 shots = 11 total if you don't miss. I don't think most people care what scores/time other people get. I myself only think about having fun and improving a little each time. I have little desire to be as good as or better than anyone else, I don't need the added stress. So forget about everyone else, take your time, and have fun.

Hawk,

Hmmmm... I haven't deleted that file yet...

I'll see how much interest there is in seeing it, and decide from there.

I only shot that video so people could see the course set-up in action. Since I had the other 2 clips, I left that one out. The tripping hazard wasn't your fault, but I figured that clip wasn't very flattering. (I did chuckle a bit though!) Perhaps that pull-rope needs re-worked to avoid that from happening in the future?

COMMANDA,
WELCOME! (Love the avatar!)
