CLEVELAND—Armed residents can give up their guns and get gasoline cards worth $100 at the pump. The first 450 people who show up at Cleveland's convention center Saturday and surrender a working handgun will receive a card.

Police, who will be at the center to ensure the guns are turned in safely, asked for the weapons to be brought in unloaded and in a clear plastic bag.

The city has recorded 119 homicides so far this year—the same number for all of 2006.

Gasoline prices have surged in recent weeks, with the statewide average for a gallon of regular gas at $3.07 last weekend, 25 cents more than Oct. 22.

If it wasn't so far (120 mile round trip) to get to Cleveland I would turn in a Haskel that I picked up for around $20 at 10 years ago. To me that would be making $80 on the deal plus getting money from the gun grabbers to put toward a "better" firearm.
Several years ago when the gun grabbers had a buy back going and weren't requiring the gun to working. I went into my scrap barrel and came out with 20 stripped junk/parts firearms. I recieved close to $1000 for this junk and went out and bought a used Colt Commander and a P226 SIG. I sent the Brady Bunch a thank note.
