Dosen't mean I can hit you from across the room....but I'll sure send some lead your way since if you show up in the doorway I can shoot till the gun goes click, 3 interior walls and the outer one is brick
OK we'll look for a different house then.

I sleep with my loaded G26 on my nightstand. Very close nearby within 6ft or so is a 1911, Beretta 92, Smith and Wesson 629, Saiga-12, Remington 870, AR-15 and SKS all right right next to an ammo can full of fully loaded magazines and stripper clips. Me thinks I need to get myself a safe...

Also, it should also be worth mentioning that I sleep with my bedroom door locked. If someone is really intent on getting in my room, the sounds of them attempting to bash the door in should be more than loud enough to wake me up and give me enough time to at least grab my Glock. In all likelyhood I'll probably have time to hook a 10-rounder of 00 into the Saiga as well.

G23 on the nightstand, 935Magnum under the bed and 1911 in a shoe box under the bed, for the things that go bump in the night. Can't do the loaded gun under the pillow, just not for me!

I have a Detective Special in the drawer next to me. I'm comfortable with it.

.38ACP loaded, and chambered under the pillow
Savage .410 with 5 slugs in a 'small spoon' position, also loaded and chambered.
Then on the floor next to the bed is an airsoft rifle that looks like an AK-47 replica, but of course doesn't do the same thing as the Romanian 7.62 that I have loaded and chambered between my bed and the wall. I also have a Titan .25 Auto that floats around day-by-day under the sheets. Then in the next room I have a .50 rifle, a 20/.22, a Marlin .22 with a hi-cap mag, a Mossberg 835 with a shortened barrel that holds 6 shots if ones chambered, and it is, another .38ACP, and hopefully real soon a Rock River Arms M4 Carbine.
You might think that's a bit much, but I like to have back-up plans for back-up plans for back-up plans, and more Plan B's than you could spit at. You never know when a gun will jam, you never know who's coming for you, you never know how many are coming, you never know if they're armed, if they're well-armed, if they can shoot, if they can take a full clip and keep coming because they were smoking sherman all day, you just never know.

Ok while I do have at least 3 loaded handguns, 1 on top of the nightstand in the holster, and 2 inside the drawer loaded and ready, I have a question for the folks that sleep with a loaded and chambered hangun under the pillow or as some say "floating under the sheets" aren't you concerned about a possible AD during the night from bumping the safety and then hitting the trigger? I know it's not all that likely to do both of those things while you are sleeping but for me, I toss and turn alot during the night so I am not sure that would be the safest place for a firearm. I can understand on the nightstand or if you have a headboard with a storage space but just trying to get some feedback from the folks that have a loaded gun IN bed with them if they arent concerned about shooting themselves or their wifes by accident?
