PA law is already the same as in AZ. This occurred in the home, so if it were PA, there would be no duty to retreat, just as AZ. The Bill you mentioned provides for justification outside the home. The use of the word "castle" is a misnomer. Pa already, essentially, has the "castle doctrine" and therefore, this shoot would have been good in PA as well.

Be safe (and only retreat so far).

Now we need "no retreat" outside the home and no civil liability. We don't have those yet do we? I'm kind of new to all this, so I'm not sure.

You are correct, in PA, outside the dwelling/workplace, we have a duty to retreat, if we can do so safely.

This bill would more accurately be described as "stand your ground" legislation.
