Default Re: 10 Manliest Firearms?? Some guy's list.

I hate to offend anyone, but the AR15 isn't really that manly...

I mean really, it fires a wussy round, and it chokes if it gets dirty... Like a succubus girlfriend, they are money pits that will empty your pockets while you scrape to buy the next best thing accessory... And they don't make a very good club or pointy stick which all manly rifles must be able to do one or the other...

An M1 garand, or the M14 for that matter would be a better choice in that slot.

And as far as I'm concerned the AK should be number 2 to the Barrett.

An amusing read, but unfortunately the author (and the poster above) continues to perpetuate the myth that the AR-15/M-16 platform works well "as long as it's not overlubed" and that "it chokes if it gets dirty..."

The AR-15/M-16 will run wet and dirty, but will choke if run dry and dirty.

Period.

I think garands are pretty manly too and expected them to be on the list.

The Smelly, as it is called by those who love it, can be rebarreled in .308 (And was, by the Indians at the Ishapore Arsenal). There are still several billion rounds of .303 surplus out there, however, and it is still loaded by modern manufacturers. Karamojo Bell was such a testosterone laden bastard he used to hunt ELEPHANT with one. Forget .470 Nitro Express and .375 Holland & Holland Magnum. This was a warrior par excellence.
This guy has no idea what he's talking about.

In fact, when I am World Dictator, the only pistols that will be allowed to be produced will be the 1911 and the GLOCK.

I promise that as well.

There is a story, possibly apocryphal but awesome nonetheless, that a ranking German (possibly the Kaiser) was visiting and watching the Swiss military on their summer maneuvers. He asked the Swiss commander, "How big a force do you command?"

The Swiss general confidently replied, "I can mobilize one million men in twenty-four hours."

The German asked, "What would happen if I marched five million men in here tomorrow?"

The Swiss replied, "Each of my men will fire five shots and go home."
I'm still chuckling over that quote above.

This guy is a actually a girly man.

The AR15 should be replaced by the FAL.

The Glock should be replaced with a SIG P220.

Relax, the Glock is a man gun, but the SIG is even more manly.
