Default Gun Found in Abandoned Home

More Wrong Information from the news... Note sure if the guns were legal. But the way they classified the guns was lame.

The discovery of a cache of weapons inside an abandoned Delaware County home has led to a search for the home's former renter.

Officers confiscated 12 weapons from a home on the 800 block of Windermere Road Monday night.

Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said several powerful guns, including a .223 assault rifle, a .45 caliber machine gun , shotguns and handguns, were found along with ammunition in a storage closet.

Authorities believe the man who had been living in the home left for Ireland within the past two weeks.
<!--[endif]-->

"Whoever owns the guns are not getting them back," Chitwood said. "It looks like he's going to war."

Upper Darby authorities are reaching out to the F.B.I. and others to aid in the investigation.

That's why I never take a 2 week vacation! I don't want them to think my house is abandoned!

Looked like there were some flintlock guns in there. WTF? I was expecting some streetsweepers, AK's, and whatnot. It looked like a decent, well-rounded, collection to me.

I'm curious how they determined it was abandoned.

I feel bad for the poor citizens of upper darby twp that have that FOOL acting in ANY form of law enforcement! Whatever happened untill inocent untill proven guilty?!?!?!

That guy would blow a gasket if he came to my house!

And 3 cheers for "CBS 3" for such an off kilter slanderous news report! **cough ** bullshit **cough***

I hope this guy/girl returns, is able to retrive his firearms and sticks it to Upper Darby Twp!!

I too am curious how it was determined "abandoned" though I'm sure we will never know.

Glad I have a stay-at-home wife and small kids - hate for the yokels to think the house was "abandoned" between 9am & 5pm!

What the hell? "These are for use on the streets"? The majority on the table were flint locks, bolt actions, and double barrels. War? What is wrong with some people? 45 cal machine gun? Looked like a tommy gun. I saw two "assault rifles". The tommy gun and an AR. Definitely not one guy going to war...

Why wouldn't he get them back? They're not reported stolen, he was probably a citizen who BOUGHT them. "Fled to Ireland?" Holy shit...that whole story pissed me off. They're getting an e-mail.

That fool Chitwood would have a heart attack if he saw what I own.

This story makes absolute no sense. Need more details before making judgements.

But what if he did "abandon" them. That would be quite odd wouldn't it?

And why was the rental unit abandoned? Was he kicked out? What else was abandoned other than guns?

I hope that person comes back and reports the firearms stolen. ...then also reports burglary and other crimes.
