In that neighborhood, it wouldn't suprise me if the persons home who got broken into didnt get broken into because he owed drug money or was cooking up a big batch of crack. I hope it's legit and it was just someone defending his family, but it wouldn't suprise me if it was an illegal gun, and a shooting over drugs and money..

I lived "in that neighborhood" and worse ones than that too. I live in squirel hill now, a "nice neighborhood" by any measure. A few years ago down on beechwood a couple was leaving for work in the morning when they got shoved into a car trunk at gunpoint. After that a young man I knew was shot dead while out for a late night walk in the middle of the "nicer" area of the nicer area by a mugger. He was a good person who never had harmed a soul and the crime was random. Just as no place is immune from crime you cannot make assumptioned based on stereotypes and a bare minimum of info. You may very well be right, and no it wouldnt be a suprise, but that could have been me. And that could easily be anyones innocent family in any neighborhood. The right to self defence is a basic human right, not one reserved by those of us who live in better neighborhoods.

obviously there are good people that live in that neighborhood, as any neighborhood really.. alot of students as well who mean harm to noone, axmdr, and d-fens both live right around there, within a few streets.. i'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me and wanted to put that out there for the people not from pgh who may not know what goes on there so they aren't putting all their eggs in one basket before the truth comes out.

I agree with one of the posters above me.... charge the accomplice with Murder under the Felony murder rule. Just like if he were to kill an occupant, all involved would be charged. If he and the dead accomplice had chosen not to burgle the place and rob the people, his crime buddy would be alive today.
