comments from a scuba diver with over 2000 hours underwater:
nice horsecollar dude - in vogue circa 1981 the reg is for underwater photographers, not environmentally sealed (I think)....nice style for the retro folks but imparactical in about every situation unless you are trying to take pictures and want the bubbles to go out the back of your neck...Aqua Lung had a niche to fill, but the also have much better. try going with a Halcyon tech rig and a Apeks ATX 100 reg or go for possible death and get a KISS rebreather...I don't do rebreathers because I prefer to live. www.halcyon.net nice fins though, good for a proper frog kick. The nav board is useless crap that gets in the way. Suunto compass and a very small slate is all you need... oh yeah, go with either a suunto or uwatec computer... ...at least there is a single pane extra low volume mast in black so no glare.... and since the rifle no workee underwater, go with a Riffe Euro 100 speargun, gets the nice grouper in florida... or if it's New Jersey waters, Riffe metaltech mid handle 3 band gun will do...blackfish are good eating

Hey Tac,
Ya know, my post was intented to be sort of humorous not a statement of expertise. So why the slam? I guess you figure I'm a 17 year old toy collector? Dutch |

Yea well it seemed like it! Oh well, I guess I'm just not as well trained as him!
But this also isn't the place to discuss diving gear either so we'll move on. U.S. Navy Diver #7662 - NEC 5345 Dutch |

In no way intended to be a slam! Just a comment from a serious scuba gear head. Ever since I switched from a crappy seqauest to a Halcyon tech rig my diving has been stellar! For example, my air consumption was averaging .7 with the old stuff, now it averages .5, with a record in cold water of .42. This means basically that I had the ability to stay 68 minutes at 70 feet deep using only just over 1/2 my air!
all that in 53 degree water! More importantly though, I went from 31 pounds of weight using the old rig to 14 pounds of wieght (salt water) or 10 pounds in fresh water using the tech stuff! In the tropics no wieght at all! That is a huge difference.... finally, I just got a new speargun... and it rocks! Remember in diving less is more... yay!
