Default Vehicle gun safe recommendations

I am looking for a small safe to leave my pistol in my vehicle. My main concern is to keep it out of my kids hands. They are always playing in my truck while working around the farm and I can just leave it in the console unlocked. I was thinking of something I can permanently mount under the seat. Any body have pictures of what they use or ideas? thanks

I got this but it looks like they are out of them now. I got it for the house but you could probably easily mount it in a vehicle.

I bought this one (large size). I use the cable since I occasionally use it outside of my vehicle too, but it has pre-drilled holes for more permanent mounting. It's also TSA approved for checked baggage.

They also have custom console vaults for selected vehicle models.

I like this one and will order one shortly.

I looked at it 6 months ago or so and just never got around to it.

I will second this safe, it is what i have in both of my cars. simple yet effective design.. I hooked it around a tree and pulled as hard as i could jerking it and such and it didnt give a bit. I felt I needed to test it out for myself a bit and unless your seat gives way its not coming out for a quick smash and grab.

I'd love to have one of these:
http://www.truckstuffusa.com/consolevaults.html
But it's only made for a small group of vehicles to fit in the console.
They do have a universal model at the bottom of the page.

Hawk,

thanks for the replys. I am thinking about the console vault, but then it makes it a pain to get at the stuff that I usually keep in my console. I do like the size and price of the other one.

i should think that center of mass one with the cable on it could fit under the vehicle seat and the metal cable wrapped around one of the seats legs.
