31B I would like to think that you're right but its an odds on favorite that he will not last at ANY paper in that state. I have no doubt that the editors have been contacted multiple times about the "madman" who had the nerve to propose that "people should actually protect themselves."

One man going above and beyond. We all need to make as much of an effort as he has. Wish I could shake his hand.

My only complaint is the line about punishing gun crime....
Using his words lets take the focus of of the tool and put it back on the crime...
Shouldn't matter if you use a gun, knife, baseball bat, car, bus, howitzer, M1 Abrams, A-10....you get the picture......

Thanks for the support, guys. It means more to me than you know.

And by the way, I moved to NJ from NYC, where I was born and raised. I will tell you, however, that my dad taught me to shoot as a boy when we were vacationing in PA.

As I jokingly tell my friends, I'm essentially a Montanan trapped in a Northeasterner's body...

I lived all of my life in North Jersey. I have legally owned firearms since I was 18. It's unbelievable the hoops that 'state' makes you jump through to legally obtain a handgun. You need to apply for a purchase permit (forget how many you can get at a time, I think 3). Wait until the police file it with the state and it comes back to them, which can take up to 30 days. You turn in that permit when you purchase the gun. If you want to buy another, gotta go through the same process. I loved the article and it also reminds me of how nice it is NOT to live in NJ anymore.

Permitting is worse than ever now in NJ, and some folks have to wait more than 6 months for their handgun purchase permits to be issued.

It may feel better to be in PA, but trust me, the anti's have their sights set on PA in a big way. I'm doing my part to keep things contained on my side of the Delaware River, but PA gun owners need to WAKE UP and mobilize and do what I call "stopping the monster while it's still little."

The monster is overwhelming in NJ, but it's not yet in PA, but that's where PA is headed if PA gun owners are complacent.

Let NJ be a warning and motivate you into action.
