Hi All,
New to firearms and the Tyrone area and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for Ranges close to Tyrone, PA. I have visited the Range up at Prince Gallitzin Park and like it, but wanted to know if there is anything closer. Thanks! |

I wasn't looking for anythign specific, just any range around my area. I do prefer public or free ranges, as I am quite poor. Thanks for the info! |

Quite a few years ago I used to shoot IHMSA silhouette matches at Bellwood Sportsmans Club....not too far south of Tyrone. Not sure what they offer nowadays but it was a nice facility.

Altoona Voulenteer is a cheap range to join (like 10-15 bucks for the year)
Hollidaysburg is more expensive but much nicer (50 bucks) i'd try Tyrone Sportsmans though out off of Decker Hollow Road, since its about the closest you can get (not sure about membership or range fees) Bellwood was already mentioned as was Scotia, there may be something back in sinking valley somewhere... but other than that

Tyrone Sportsman is $5 a year. You can pick up a membership card at Bressler's market on West 15th St in Tyrone.

Thanks for all the replies, I found this site on the PA Game commissions website that has some public ranges close too. http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/cwp/v...a=480&q=161297
I think the Cambria county range might be the closeset while I'm at home, and the Scotia range when I'm at work. It's too bad there are no public ranges in Blair county... Thanks again!! |
