I am kicking myself for missing this thread back in October. I would have been on this AMD in a heartbeat. They're good rifles, I enjoy the hell out of mine. And at that price, even if you didn't like it, you could have turned around and sold it for profit the next day.

careful taking off the compensator. I think it's welded on, because otherwise the barrel length is less than 16".

a screw-on compensator or flash suppressor won't keep you on the legal side. it needs to be welded, and over a certain temperature.

Sorry for the late post, just saw this thread.

I picked up an AMD-65 from Seneca a few months back, got a great deal on it. I'd been toying with the idea of picking one up but hadn't "pulled the trigger" yet, called John and he said he just got one in. The coincidence was too good to pass up. Man, that thing is FUN!! Accurate, eats anything and stops ALL conversation at the range when you light off that first round.

I don't know about that other gun, but I'm real happy with mine.

Be glad you got it, prices have been climbing steadily since Obiden got the nod.

Anyway, "Stops ALL conversation at the range when you light off that first round. "

Gotta love that muzzle break, talk about a boomstick! You should see a Hakim; probably the closest to a .50 at clearing the range of other shooters.
