Independence Day Concert in Butler, July 4, 2:00pm

For those interested, there is a FREE concert at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Main Street in downtown Butler (across from the Armstrong building).

It is a patriotic/spiritual concert that celebrates the founding of the country and those who have sacrificed to keep it free. Even if you have just one patriotic bone in your body, this concert will tweak it.

All are welcome! The concert starts at 2:00. Go grab lunch, come to the concert, then head out to your July 4th festivities.

The concert is put on by ACTS (Adoring Christ Thru Song), which is made up of approximately 100 local musicians and singers. I'll be the one wearing the drum set!

No problem! After the concert, feel free to come up and introduce yourself.

IMHO, the best part of the concert is when we play "The Procession of the Patriots" - a medley of the five armed services songs. During each song, we invite members of that branch to stand. There will be 80-year-old men and women who came in with wheelchairs, but when when we play their song, they stand right up! There isn't a dry eye in the house. And it's hard to play an instrument or sing when you're choking back tears...

Hope to see some PAFOA folks there!

I just got back.

It was indeed a moving concert. The women next to me cried several times.

Thanks again ~Kim

Kimba-

Thanks for coming and introducing yourself. I'm glad you liked the concert...and as you probably noticed, I don't OC while drumming! But that doesn't mean it wasn't nearby...
