Default references, for license to carry

Hey everyone, I was wondering how stringent Franklin County is about contacting 2 references prior to issuing a license. My family moved to Franklin Co from Maryland about 2 years ago, but I've been at school in Philly and know literally no one where we live now. Is there any way for me to still get a license, or am I stuck with only being able to transport to/from a firing range?

I had the same situation as a relatively new resident of Chester County. I listed two references (one from NJ and one from Bucks County). The Sheriffs officer asked if i had any Chester County references and I indicated I did not. He said I should write on the app that I did not know anyone in Chester County. My license arrived Wednesday (3 weeks and a few days). They did not check with either of my references!

Great, thanks for the response. I think I'll just give it a shot, and see if they care that I don't have any in-county references. I just got worried when saw rules such as "lived in the county for 3 years and knew you for 3 years"... that's pretty hard to fulfill.

This is how it should have been handled, and IMO is the only legal way the sheriff could have dealt with it. Good for him!
