Nope. Beyond forums I tend to avoid the "social networking" sites like the plague if possible.

Twitter is more like a messaging service. You can have "tweets" by people you follow sent to your email, or your phone, etc. For example, with my personal account my friends and I tweet what we're up to which is then relayed out to all our phones which let's us coordinate plans on weekends at times. I also run a program on my computer that receives tweets by people I follow so when I'm at work I constantly get updates on what people are up to and what news they are sharing.
