Hello,
I've been a long-time lurker but decided to sign up finally and contribute to this site. I've learned quite a bit from you all and hope I can share my knowledge as well. My main interests are related to concealed carry and other self-defense techniques, particularly for someone with a physical disability (use a cane for most walking). I look forward to the discussions. Genghiscam Last edited by genghiscam; 3 Weeks Ago at 10:08 PM. Reason: Spelling error (In my name username, no less!) |

Just signed up a minute ago and I want to say hello to everyone. I am a new hand gun owner, but I have hunted all my life with rifles and shotguns. I just recently purchased a new Glock 19, and I'm loving it !

Names Ed O'Halloran. I'm a retired Sergeant from the Balto Police Dept. and a strong advocate for the right of honest citizens of this Country to carry Firearms. Unfortunately I live in a State that is hard core anti gun. As a retired Police I have the ability to get a Handgun Carry Permit, a Permit denied to most Marylanders. I too have a disability brought about by a Heart Attack. However that is no problem as long as you select the proper handgun to carry. The first consideration is the selection of a weapon and holster that is friendly to one hand ambidextrous use. The best choice in my opinion is either a .357 Snub Nose Revolver or Double Action Auto. I like the Glock 19 9MM. Use a High Rise Holster that fits tight to the body. That combination permits easy one hand access and sufficient firepower for self protection. It is also a comfortable easy conceal under a loose fitting shirt or jacket. Also I cannot stress more strongly that you go to a Range, join a Gun Club in your area, and practice, practice, practice, Draw and Fire from 7 Yards over and over again until you can do it in your sleep. When the chips are down and God forbid your life or the life of one you love is on the line you will be able to react quickly. Along with that goes this WARNING. If you ever draw a Weapon STOP, Identify your target, make sure no Innocent is in your line of Fire, MAKE DAMM SURE YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION and be confident you can make those life altering decisions in a split second. Again go to the Range and Practice, Practice, Practice hopefully with a reputable instructor. To carry a Handgun is a Life and Death decision, you are not permitted a second chance, once you turn that bullet loose you cannot call it back. Also remember if you are not properly instructed that Weapon can br taken and used against you and your family. Also be aware, not all States have the same Carry Rules, cross a Border with your Weapon and you could face years in Jail Again I strongly support the right to carry, however with any Right there also goes responsibility. A Friend, Ed O'Halloran |

I find it insane that a Million U.S. Citizens are willing to give up their Constitutional Rights because of a bunch of Scumbag Drug Dealers in L.A. Address the real problem, Deport or Jail the Scumbags for life, better yet train them to be better shots so they can kill each other quicker, but for Heavens sake do not give up your Rights. Quit complaining you have the ability to change your situation anytime you want. QUIT ELECTING LIBERALS. Ed |

Ed O'Halloran, Retired Balto Police Sgt. Glock 19, Good reliable Weapon. The 19 is what I use for an Off Duty Carry. Nice choice. Ed |
