Howdy, all.

I stumbled across this site from another forum, and decided to jump in.

I'm a native of Bedford County, and I love it here. Grew up running ridges after Whitetails, rabbits and squirrel, and still do every chance I get.

I guess I picked "Fudd" as a handle 'cause right now, I don't own a "Homeland Defense Rifle". That doesn't meen I'm not a supporter, I just haven't got one ...YET.

Currently I do a little handloading for my "pets" and try to get out and shoot trap at Chestnut Ridge, Daisytown, and Houseworths when I get the chance. I also love to make a little smoke with my "Rocklocks" but I'm without a buddy since my son ran off to colledge!

Hope to make some new friends and hunting/shooting partners here, and maybe learn a thing or two. See you around.

There is one in Allentown/Bethlehem as well.

Go back a page and reference the list of links I posted. Pay particular attention to the gun rights flyer and the UFA.

I would suggest you try an assortment of firearms, both revolver and semi autos, and find one you like and are comfortable with, then train with that. Take a basic pistol course from someone not related to you.

Good luck and welcome.

Oh... I did not know that..
I was going to suggest another range, because the firing line here in Philly is a dump.

AutumnWinter will become famous soon enough
Default Re: If you've signed up, say hi here.

Hello,
Nice forum.

I'll find a thread or subject to post my question. Was just trying to find information about joining a club to shoot indoors when weather is bad (looks like I can't unless I know someone?)

Anyhow, found myself reading through several threads here and after about 45 minutes learned some things and thought I'd join.

~Thanks

AW - welcome to PAFOA.

If you want to shoot indoor pistols, Anthony Arms in West Mifflin is open to the public. Nice range but a bit pricey. I haven't been there in about a year but I think it's the best indoor range around. They usually have a coupon on their site for free range time if you bring a friend. You have to buy ammo there.

Other than that, you will have to join a private club. I'm a member of the Coraopolis Sportsmen's Association. $75 initiation fee and $50 for each year ($125 total for first year). You do not need a sponsor to join. 100m outdoor range. 100 foot (???) indoor range. You bring your own ammo.

Good luck

Welcome. I learned the majority of firearms law and knowledge of firearms through members here on the forum. Spend some time here, use the search option, and ask questions, you will come away a better gun owner and person.

I signed up a couple of weeks ago but this is my 1st post due to my having a problem logging in. I am 68 years old and newly retired. i worked in the Garden State or is it Garbage State.I Thank God that I don't live in New Jersey. I am spending a lot of time shooting and handloading, things I couldn't do while working. I live in the little town of Portland in Northampton County. I grew up here and it used to be a lot different before the influx of people from NY and NJ. Anyhow Hello to the group. My interests right now are in handguns. I enjoy shooting them all from the 9mm to the 45acp and 44 Magnum. My other interest is ham radio .I, like many of the people I talk to am worried what the present administration will try to do to our 2nd amendment rights. This is enough for a introduction.

Lou
