HI gang. I have been lurking a while but finally got around to signing up. I don't really care to post on forms too much because of the "internet tough guy syndrome", however it seems very nice here from what I have witnessed so I thought I would sign up.
A little background on myself: I am 32, married, live in Lycoming County and work in IT for a local school district. I own a 9mm S&W 5906 (which I absolutely love) and a nickle Browning 380 which I bought for next to nothing and don't really care for. This summer I am thinking of picking up a Khar PM9 to replace the browning for CC since the 5906 is a bit large to carry in the summer. I use to be an avid shooter/hunter/fisher before marriage but in the past 2 years it seems like there is never time. I still do archery hunt and get to go fishing in my pond though. As far as shooting goes, I am just getting back into things. I just sent my application in to join the local sportsman club on RT 87 so I look forward to getting out shooting again. I would also like to take a firearms safety/home protection program or something similar over the summer. So that's me in a nutshell. I look forward to being part of the community. Fess |

Hello PAFOA members! I’m new to the association and welcome the opportunity to learn more about firearms and meet new folks who share my interests (it appears I am in the right place). I’m a lifelong Chester County resident seeking a local (Glenmoore area) shooting club to join. I recently obtained my LTCF. I am former USMC, although do not consider myself an expert in firearms. I’m interested in the thoughts of those more knowledgeable than I regarding the following: The popular phrase “lock and load” seems to be stated backwards. Doesn’t the clip or actual round have to be loaded 1st before the chamber or bolt is locked? Therefore, in functional terms, shouldn’t the phrase be accurately stated as “load and lock”, versus “lock and load”? Thanks to anyone who can square me away regarding this.
