Question How to Embed YouTube Videos

Howdy folks,

Here's a brief tutorial on how to use the [youtube] tags to embed YouTube videos into your forum posts.

Just take the part of the youtube URL after the "watch?v=" and put the [youtube] tags around it.

Remember the second, closing youtube tag starts with a /

Here's an example..
Code:
[Y0UTUBE]wGMLrqTDaiA[/Y0UTUBE]
So instead of your links looking like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGMLrqTDaiA ...

...it will embed the video in your post like this:

Please try and include some descriptive keywords when creating a new thread and embedding a video into the first post.

For example, a good name for this example video's thread might be "Video of danp shooting his Suppressed Glock 19 + SWR Trident 9"

Great video and great advice, Doug! Not having to change pages to watch videos is such a plus!

Would it be tacky, or take up too mauch space, to imbed in my signature?
I tried, and the sytem will let me. But just cause you can do something doesnt always mean you should.

FWIW some folks complained that the quotes in my sig took up too much room, I mean it really is tough to scroll past so much.

I have since removed my sig completely.

Yeah, a video in the sig is a bit much

Bill, Don't feel bad, nobody was mad at you about it

Thanks for the tip.

It comes in handy when I check PAFOA at work. So far, they have not blocked the site. This method is the only possible way I have of seeing a you tube video posted by someone. For some reason the company firewall does not shut it down!

Thanks again.

Just came across this post and noticed that in the "code" above both "Y0UTUBEs" have a zero instead of the letter "O". It must be an "O" for it to work properly
