How much to expect price for a shotgun

I am going to buy my first shotgun and am planning to go to A&S later. I have never bought a gun before so not sure what price range is considered a good deal. I narrowed to down to a Mossberg 500 and Remington 870.

I just got a Mossberg 500 Persuader 18.5" Tactical for home defense purpose. I added a tactical flashlight. Would I be better off with a laser sight or a red-dot sight (or none at all)?

Old HOPKINS & ALLEN SXS 12ga question

Well i'm getting a pre 1898 HOPKINS & ALLEN double barrel 12 gage in a trade. It looks good (has some repair work on the stock) but my question for you guys is; can i use modern shotgun shells in it? If i cant, what should i use? Anything i should look for?

Hey guys, finally buying a new shotgun this weekend and narrowed it down to either a mossberg 500 field or a stoeger uplander s x s. now i really want a s x s but my wallet can only put out about 300-400 bux. so, is this stoeger uplander a piece of junk and i should just go with the mossberg 500 field? or is the stoeger uplander a model to contend with the mossberg 500 field?

We recently were given a shotgun from a friend to find out about. Its a 20 gauge single shot has Harrington & Richardson Gardener, Mass Made in the U.S.A U.S Pat Num 3888848 Ser. number AY599111. That is all the info on the gun so if anyone could help us out theat would be great.

which 12 gauge high brass has longer range?

i was pondering why i missed 2 grouse yesterday while small game hunting , i was using Winchester Super X high brass copper plated No 6 load with Mod choke on my Rem 870 express. I got a rabbit last week with a headshot, i was using the same load. I did some research but i cant find which would give me better reach the smaller No 6 or No 5 High Brass.

i asked the around everyone gives different opinions and said lighter is faster and farther while i aint convinced with the 7 and half load. Any feedback would be appreciated.

About to Send an older Side by Side Shotgun with no serial number Across Stateline...

The Buyer did send me a copy of his current driver's license, and a copy of his FFL dealer's valid license along with a Payment by Money Order.

The payment is all good since its a US Postal Money Order.

But the FFL dealer Did Not Hand Sign the Copy of his FFL license in Ink, which I did clearly ask for,
Is that really necessary to be done ???

I did verify the FFL license on the ATF web site and its all good, valid and up to date, but is also registered to a PO Box Address.

Am I totally 100% safe to send it to the address of the FFL holder's PO Box Address ?,
even though he did not hand sign it in Ink and its also registered to a PO Box ?

Who will sign for it at the PO Box ?
as I only want to send it with signature delivery confirmation just to be safe on my end...

And is it an absolute must for the Copy of his license to be Hand Signed in Ink as I see others requesting same for a firearm o be sent across stateline,

even though it is all Valid and Up to Date ???

Can anyone help me with these questions please...

I want this transaction to be 100% perfectly legit and to be safe.

Is it ok to send ?

Western Field model 50

I have my eye on a Western Field Model 50 pump shotgun and would like any info on years made, and who would have made it. I found that this was for Montgomery Ward, and the serial number is 5 digits (if I remember correctly).

Shotgun Barrel Scratches?

I have a Mossberg 590A1 and I keep getting these weird marks on the barrel, they look like sratches, but I can rub it off like an eraser. Does anyone else get these marks?

any old Remington or Ithica experts?

I have a old(1928) Remington 17A which actually was an Ithica 37 before there was an Ithica 37 .Anyways I an needing to know if a Ith.37 barrel will interchange with the earlier 17A? The barrel on mine is just too long and choked to full which is the exact opposite I need for grouse where I hunt and I have no intentions of altering the original barrel. I have hunted high and low for a replacement but these fine guns were only made for a few yrs. so parts are rare. Any thoughts?
