Hello all, new member here.

I am looking for a decent shop with decent prices in the Downingtown/Exton, Chester County area.

TargetMaster is out. French Crook Outfitters is out. The Sportsmans Shop is out.

Any other suggestions?

I am shopping for a Glock 26. I have read several positive posts about Warwick Firearms. I would rather give my money to a small guy with a real interest in staying afloat.

Any help, suggestions, advice is appreciated. Thank you.

This past saturday a fellow pafoa member and myself went to the gunshow at split rock. We decided that after the show we could go shooting at the SGL in Jim Thorpe to get ready for the upcoming deer season. Upon leaving the gun show we both realized we both forgot our ear protection and decided to go into the town and go to the local shop to get a pair of throw aways. We walked into the Four Seasons and this old man sat behind the counter and didn't even ask if he could help us as we walked in, fine I don't like to be hassled anyway. Upon walkin around the store *which took no lie 2 minutes* we could not find ear plugs. We walked up to the counter and asked the old man if he sold ear plugs and he said yup right here and there was no more. Fine I understand that sometimes you run out of product to sell, especially in a po-dunk little town in a sports shop that has 10 brown rifles and 3 handguns and a starter pistol. I asked the man if he knew were the SGL was and his first response was "Do you have a car?" in a really sarcastic way. My first thought was no a-hole i walked here but I decided to be a decent young man and said yes. He then gave us directions to the SGL and we found it easy enough. My point being there was no need to be an old D-bag in life, you run a crappy store in the middle of no where and then your gonna be a sarcastic sob? I will never ever return to that store ever again.

I wanted to get peoples opinions on this since I've recently run into varying stances among friends:

When you go to purchase a new gun, do you expect to receive one in the box which has not been displayed or would you be fine purchasing the display gun?

Do you think it is inappropriate to insist on a gun that has not been displayed?

Just wondered if there is any actual protocol in relation to this or if it just varies store to store and by what's available.

Anybody have any info. on whether or not Graham's in Jersey Shore is staying in business?

Used to do lots of business there......first and usually last place I would end up and typically nobody could touch Steve's prices. The last couple years he is never open and I heard he was quite ill with something serious. He doesn't return calls or e-mails from anyone I know and we are serious buyers.

The shop is never open but signs and such in the window get changed from time to time. What's going on?

My second choice was always National which has become #1 now and I've been pretty pleased and Drew is a top notch guy, but it's not Graham's.

I miss Steve!

However, I am not looking to take a bath on it. (I have it up for sale for $500 shipped)

Anyone know of any competitive shops that would do this?
While we're on the subject, I'm trying to sell my CX4 Storm .40 S&W. Anyone know what shops would likely give me for that?

Hey all,

I Picked up my first AR the other day and was wondering if there are any shops around Harrisburg or Lancaster with a decent selection of parts and/or accessories for AR's?

There are so many different things out there and I really don't know what I'm dealing with, so I hate to go through a trial and error process online if I want to try something out. I'd love to go to a store and be able to see and touch things so I know what I'm dealing with.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Please everyone if you are ever in the Hanover (York county one) PA area and need anything go visit the guys at W.E Sell Sporting goods. They are OC friendly, knowledgeable, and have fairly decent prices. They are a small mom and pop and I go to them for everything. They are also very friendly about coming in and handling firearms to get a feel for what you may want to buy, I bring people in who I am helping purchase a firearm all the time. They also do repairs, and repair bows etc. I urge everyone to check them out! I also thought it was a big plus when I walked in and there was the PA gun rights OC fliers on the counter with a free take one sign!

I contacted a gun shop in NE PA looking for Glock 17/19 magazines. I live in NY and have a Glock 26. I was interested in getting the magazines to leave at my uncle's place in PA to use when I came down to visit and shoot with him. This particular store told me it was their corporate policy to check ID on magazine purchases and to not sell to anyone from a state where capacity is restricted. I fully endorse the business being able to set it's own policies (it is America after all), but I am wondering if this is the usual policy of gun stores in PA.

It does not seem that it would be an illegal transaction as it is not illegal to possess such magazines in PA. It's a shame that I have to travel in order not to have to reload as often, but the chances of removing the capacity ban in NY are slim and none with the current administration so I had to rely on a more enlightened commonwealth in order to be able to practice with more than 10 rounds at a time.
