Hi all!
Do adults have to take the hunter's safety course in order to get their licenses? I'm 27, and ex-military with a conceal carry permit, and I feel that this would be a complete waste of time because I know not to look down the barrel of a gun..... I was at Dicks Sporting Goods, got me a remington 770, and the guy said that I should get my hunting licenses while I was there, but I always thought I needed to take a test or something. My friend also said that you only need the course for junior hunters, i'm totally confused about this. |

It not only a requirement but it's wise thing to do. It's much more than "hey dummy don't look down the barrel".

I thought current and ex military with a military ID didnt have to take a safety course? Its still a good idea since the course covers alot more than jusr firearm safety.

I am a 53 yr old female - i just took the Hunting Safety Course a few weeks ago! One is never too old! I learned from it along with lots of kids and their parents. There were some other older people also so i wasn't the only older person there. It is free, its only around a day and a half of your time and I believe it is worth it and i came away with a little more knowledge.
