I started out with a bulldog because it was $15 and I didn't know if I wanted to ankle carry.
After 3 months, I'm still using it. I'm sure there are better ones and know that there are way more expensive ones. I'm always amazed that no one notices the bulge at my ankle, but I've never had anyone spot it. |

If you are not used to wearing an ankle holster, it will take some getting used to comfort wise. After wearing the ankle holster for a long while it will be barely noticeable.
All guns carried low to ground "will" pick up grit and it takes no time for any weapon requiring grease/oil to become a mess. Padding between the weapon and your ankle is mandatory for any type of comfort. Also, when I wear an ankle holster (I only use this mode of carry for a back up gun only) the holster will be under my sock in that way if the pants leg raises up, and someone notices only the sock will be seen. I have owned and used several different ankle holsters and the ones I like best are: Renegade: Comfortable and reasonably priced---made from elastic with sheeps wool between the gun and your leg. Ken Null: Like this one the best as it well designed and Ken's work is second to none. oracle

Galco Ankle Glove.
Nothing but praise for it. I use it to carry my Colt Pony when IWB is not possible due to type of clothes I'm wearing. I'll throw it in the truck, remind me and I'll show it to you at the shoot.

I use two different ankle holsters.
I use a Desantis Apache (velcro)which needs to be replaced after about 3 years of pretty constant use. It is comfortable and I generally wear it above an 8" work boot. My Lou Alessi holster does not fit that high on my leg My lou Alessi holster is also very comfortable but costs quite a bit more. I generally wear two pair of socks in my Gortex work boots and I buy those that go up my calf enough to secure my holster over. I do put my sock over the bottom of the holster with low cut shoes. 27
