Unfortunately our wedding was in MD but originally it was going to be in PA and I had every intention of carrying. I was CC (IWB) when I got fitted for my tux and the young girl did ask if i was going to be wearing it during the wedding and if it should be included in her measurements. I told her no and that they probably don't make the pants that big anyway...

First wedding I stuck it in the Judges closet in chambers just to make my bride happy. Put it right back on as soon as we were done (CC). 2nd wedding was a year later (same bride) and was a religious ceremony to make her grandma happy. I CC'd for that one.
CC'd at my brothers wedding as well as at my sisters. Stood in as best man at 2 others and carried CC. Done this in MD, DC and VA. Of course being a LEO helps with the CC part. Wouldn't have done it OC as there will always be people a little uncomfortable about it, there will be drinking after the ceremony (tho not by me) and I personally don't want to deal with others "opinions" on OC. |

...right along with two of my groomsmen. I'd joked with one of them weeks beforehand about how funny it would be to line everyone up on the morning of the ceremony, and issue each one of them a (loaner) pistol+holster with their boutonnière/flower-thing. Lo-and-behold, the wedding day rolls around, he waltzes into my hotel suite with a duffel bag loaded with pistol cases and spare holsters, and with the straightest poker face asks, "Wasn't sure if we were arming the chicks too, so I brought extra just in case." (As hilarious as this was, it doesn't hold a candle to the official opening of the wedding presents the next day -- house full of inlaws, and right smack in the middle of all the new silverware, dinner plate sets, and the other (*koff*koff*crap*koff*koff*) stuff, I unwrap several thousand rounds of various caliber ammo -- for the next few seconds, that house was so silent that I'm pretty sure I heard a mouse farting 3-4 houses down the street. ;-) So, you planning on carrying at yours, or just throwing the question out for curiosity's sake? --Kluge |

I didn't own a pistol at my first wedding 34/35 years ago so no I didn't.
Only had a .44 mag when I got married the second time. I didn't carry. I was kind of a late bloomer with handguns at about 2000. Just came back from my kiddos wedding in NH the first week of Oct. I declared my Kahr on US Air and ankle carried at the wedding/reception. I am rarely not armed after having taken a couple of training sessions. 27

My wife and I went to a friend of ours wedding late this summer. We both know that she has been carrying for years. The other day my wife says to me. Did you know she was carrying on her wedding day?
The day of the wedding I was wandering if she was carrying. Now I know. Didn't surprise me a bit. |

One day I may get married. Had a girl in mind once but barring some Romantic-comedy-movie-like turn of events she's a longshot.
But, for the wedding not only will I be carrying but for the groomsmen's gift I plan on getting each of them a full sized springfield 1911 with special commemorative pistol grips. Maybe silver plated who knows. Maybe I can convince the prophetess on giving the girls some daggers or something...something sexy about a girl with a blade if she prefers that over my initial suggestion of pink walther p22's. So to answer your question with a future answer, yes, I will be carrying, as will the entire wedding party. |
