(a) Offense defined.--Any person who carries a firearm in any vehicle or any person who carries a firearm concealed on or about his person, except in his place of abode or fixed place of business, without a valid and lawfully issued license under this chapter commits a felony of the third degree.

The bold is why I am confused.

Thank you
You may so carry there, even without a license. So long as you have your employer's blessing within the confines of the establishment - you're legal. You may tell the officer to go pound salt because it is indeed legal.

Now you better make sure its unloaded going to/from that place of work and home if you dont have a license.

And make sure your trips are directly to and directly from home/work. If you make other stops while transporting the firearm without a LTCF, you are outside of the exemption. As silly as it sounds, there have been people charged for doing this, and Philadelphia is one of the last places I'd expect a technicality like this to be overlooked.

Did I read this right? You CANNOT carry a loaded weapon in your car, even if licensed? I know many who have been pulled over for traffic violations and immediately handed over license, reg, ins, and CCW and made the officer aware they were carrying....with no repercussions. Could you please clarify?

you cannot carry a loaded *long gun* in your car.

if you have an LTCF...or permit/license from any state...you can carry a loaded pistol in your car.

State parks are legal to CC with a LTCF. However, there are parts of some state parks that are still controlled by the Army Corp of Engineers which would be off-limits; like a dam(the structure itself), retaining walls, spillways, etc.

So long as you aren't in/on the ACoE controlled areas you should be ok. Not all state parks have ACoE involvement. There are some where the ACoE did build the area, but turned it over to state or county domain.

I have a question about carrying on my college campus. I read most of this thread and earlier it was states that since they are private property it's not against the law to carry on them, but i might risk the chance of expulsion. Is there any difference with a state university. I'm moving to State college fall semester and I want to make sure i'm totally legal.
