Default Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival

Hi everyone. I haven't been at PFOA for awhile, so if this was covered, forgive me. Anybody know if they check for wepons here? It looks like they herd you through a castle as the entrance.

They only make you check your swords, halbards, daggers, and longbows.....hahah...sorry, I couldn't resist.

Actually, can't help you here with a serious answer....just moved to PA 2 months ago....however, can you tell me where and when the festival is because I used to go to the one in MD when I lived there and would like to do th PA Ren. Festival.....and would be interested in answers to mardo's original post.

Just go. If they check and dont want you to bring it in then go lock it up and come back. no biggie.

I will be in the Randy Cain Close Quarters Handgun class this weekend.

and if they see your gun and care and dont want it in at least you know how to use a knife........... well, guess you could get a good sword and crossbow action going..... lol

Went to the the Ren Fair labor day weekend and cc'd the entire time. No body check, scanners or notice at the "castle gates".

I can't imagine that a metal detector would be particularly useful at these kinds of events anyways.
