Do you know if they switch over to Department of Army Police? Or is it Wack-a-nut type security?

The Cemetery is patrolled by Ft. Indiantown Gap Police. There is also a Park Ranger there that will guide you to where you need to be. I was there yesterday and had no problems carrying my 45 open. Dad is burried not to far from where they hold the ceremonies. The driveway is lined with flags. take a camera.

What you're trying to say is DMVA which is department of military and veternas AFFAIRS. NOT administration. Two different things. Now if you're talking about the cemetary then yes, it's federal property.
Quote:
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government-run military veteran benefit system with Cabinet-level status. It is responsible for administering programs of veterans’ benefits for veterans, their families, and survivors. The benefits provided include disability compensation, pension, education, home loans, life insurance, vocational rehabilitation, survivors’ benefits, medical benefits and burial benefits.[1] It is administered by the United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

It was formerly called the Veterans Administration, also called the VA, which was established July 21, 1930, to consolidate and coordinate government activities affecting war veterans. The VA incorporated the functions of the former U.S. Veterans' Bureau, the Bureau of Pensions of the Interior Department and the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.

To the best of my knowledge, FIG has their own Police. Not connected with DA Police or Wackenhut but their very own Police Dept complete with ORI #. They also have a small security contingent. Its set up very similar to the State's Capitol Police system. State employees, benefits, employ both Police Officers and Security personnel.

http://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/indiantowngap.asp

Well first of all that link is .gov Does that not imply it's not part of the state?

If you go to the FTIG site it is a .state.pa site...

Now from about halfway down the page:

Quote:
In 1976, a section of Fort Indiantown Gap was selected as the national cemetery for the states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia and West Virginia. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania donated Land for the 677-acre site to the Veterans Administration.
I think "national" is significant, no?

And when you click on "cemetaries" on the right...

AND, my husband was so adament, he just called the VA police and asked if they still patrol out there and if it's still considered federal property. <----the cemetary---- The guy said yes and naturally he went into why he was asking. The guy told him that yes, it would be a very serious offense. (now yes, I know there are a lot of uneducated cops out there but if he's patrolling federal property then the law is the law, no?)

FWIW - violation of the CFR cited above is 6 months and/or $500.

If you enter a Federal building as defined by 18 USC 930 then you are subject to an unspecified fine and/or 1 year.

Yes the law is the law...but remember that they also have the discretion on how to act when applying those laws. every officer does just as every judge.
If you are conducting yourself in a proper manner(not being a ass) most will overlook things.

I'm on good terms with the people at our post office but I'm not going to carry in there to see if they are going to "let me slide" because I'm behaving myself. I'm just saying.... we scream and carry on when we're lumped in with those who aren't law abiding with firearms. Well then we damn well better be law abiding, no? JMO of course.

Yepper, thats what I just found as well. They are not 0083's, but employed by the Commonwealth’s Department of Military and Veterans.

And it looks to me like FITG is actually state property and NOT federal - just my opinion
