Tell your daughter that my daughter, who is 16, often attends these events, but she was out of town with Mrs. Plinker and my sainted mother. She will most likely be at the next one.I have some pictures and some stories to tell, which I will post in a little bit. But overall it was a great event, the largest here in the east so far I think.

Like the others said, it was a great time for all...even if the weather wasnt the greatest we all muddled through and enjoyed each others company. The turnout was great, estimated at about 80 at its peak.... and all enjoyed the food, the conversation and the day. We even had a few NEW people show up that are NOT members of PAFOA ( yet ) .... and they said they enjoyed talking with others about this event and hope that others will come soon also...
Naturally the BIG item was the fact that we raised over $2000.00 for the Red Cross..... and a special thanks to Mrs. PA PATRIOT for not only doing the walk, but putting up with all of us as well..... WELL DONE ALL.... Hopefully we can plan another event like this ( and we WONT let GNBROTZ pick the date since he has a penchant for BAD weather days )... and we can do it all again... WAY TO GO P.A.F.O.A..........

Glad to hear things went well. All I got to do was OC in front of a gas and electric service guy here at home, then go figure out how to repair a deer ear butt that had a serious infection and as a result ended up tanned with a big missing spot due to necrotic tissues.
So how many miles did the Mrs do, so I know how much money to send? BTW I think the smell from all that bean eating has made its way down here, or was that just the one dog I smell? Oh yeah and I need pics of all the hot looking guys ( if there were any!) OCing.

The picnic was great. There was wayyyy too much food. (for us to eat. just the right amount if you were feeding an army!)
on the way home I stopped in Jim Thorpe to take some pictures of the steam train. Strangely enough, no one seemed to notice the guy with the gun. here's a video of what I saw there. it's a bit loud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TIu2__WzHA |

I wish we could have stayed a little longer, but our grandson was showing his fatigue with the long day, and we had about a 2 hour drive yet.
![]() This was the first PAFOA event for Mrs. Curmudgeon as well as our daughter. They had a fantastic time, and really enjoyed discovering that whack-job gun nuts are NOT crazy-eyed maniacal sociopaths! ![]() Awesome job by Mrs. Pa Patriot! Her hard work rose the significance of this event to an entirely new level. ![]() And let's not forget "gnbrotz" for getting this whole thing started. Greg, I hope we will see you at the next one! Mrs. Curmudgeon commandeered the Nikon early in the day. I am about look at the pics to see if we have anything other than the grandson!

Steph and I had an awesome time today, the people were great and the food was even better. It will be nice to be able to put some faces to some names on here. 1911shooter, SIG-Girl1911, Wild Bill Klinton, mikey, shooter357, and xd40_jim to name a few. There were plenty of people there, looking foward to meeting even more.
I can't believe we raised over $2000 today, that is just incredible. Looking forward to the next one. Time to go finish off my left over sausage

I would have to agree that the picnic was a HUGE success. Lucky for us, the rain held off, for the most part. Maybe 15 minutes of it, was all that we saw.
It was great meeting alot of members for the first time, and a surprising amount of locals, who came out to see what we were all about. I spent a good amount of time talking with them and they were very supportive of our group, and the way we stand up for our rights as gun owners. I really feel we did a great job as ambassadors of the 2nd ammendment today. There was a childrens birthday party going on at the pavilion next to our, and I didn't see anyone running away, screaming or the like. There was a guy who had been fishing at the lake that Pennsy and I met, who was also very glad to see us there. He told us that he is afraid to go to the lake any more, without having his gun with him, it has gotten so bad in that area. A big thank to Mrs. Banks (hey, that rhymes ) for walking all that way for all of us, and for doing alot of the work involved to make this a success. Thanks to all the others who set this up (Greg, I know you will see this) and made this an excellent get together. I hope we do it again soon.

Just so any reporters reading this? No reporters came to OUR EVENT. So anything written about us would be "second hand at best".
I hope they report about the PAFOA being the #1Donor Thanks to all "brothers and sisters in arms". WILD BILL KLINTON

Actually Mnt Jack already has one, Pennsy can make his own... I just have to worry about DC and Tootie will soften him up a bit before he gets here if she is missing a spoon...
