or American Legion?

My dad is a social member to the local VFW and a 'Sons of' member at the American Legion (It may be reverse, I'm not certain).

Well he signs my kids up to see Santa at the VFW each year and I go with them. In past years I've just left it at home, however this year I am trying to carry anytime that I can.

Isn't that a private club? I would think it would be their call. If you're concealed then.... but otherwise I don't think there are any official laws against it.

Private Property rights prevail, as SFN said being a privatly owned entity, they make their policy. It is not unlawful, unless they ask you to leave, and you refuse, IE Defiant Trespass.

On the other side of the coin, while not unlawful, it may be against their policy, and they have every right to ask you to leave because of it.

My VFW has rules posted in many locations and are said to be standard for all, they do have rules against firearms in the club. I argue with them all the time about it... a " VETERANS" CLUB PEOPLE WHO FOUGHT AND FIGHT FOR COUNTRY and CONSTITUTION. and they post rules against this they go " Deer in headlights on me"

Then get on the board and attempt to change it. My club does NOT have any rules posted in reference to firearms. And quite frankly I am not about to ask about it, until I am elected Vice Commander in April
